Wie der Krieg uns verändert ist eine Sammlung von Interviews mit Menschen, die als unmittelbare Zeugen über Russlands Kriegsverbrechen in der Ukraine berichten und ihre persönlichen Erfahrungen teilen. Unter den Interviewten sind Friedensnobelpreisträgerin Olexandra Matwijtschuk und andere Intellektuelle, die dem Buch eine menschenrechtliche, historische und kulturelle Perspektive verleihen.

Sneaky game
This is an adventure detective that will pull you out of your everyday life for a while and immerse you in the fascinating and exciting world of the characters – a brave journalist who dares to conduct a dangerous investigation in secret from the editor, and a defenseless victim of kidnappers who hopes for a miracle.
The detective tells about the mysterious disappearance of the 12-year-old orphan Lyuba. Step by step, the investigation will lead journalists to expose a chain of similar crimes, behind which very “decent” and “charitable”, at first glance, people were hiding.
Here is a mortal risk and a desperate struggle for life, loss of reputation and bribery, betrayal of a close friend and support from the “enemy”, and finally – Love. The book won the 2nd prize of the All-Ukrainian literary competition of the Smoloskyp Publishing House

Чесно, «Любов за гріш» це взагалі перший прочитаний мною детектив. Я як почала читати, коли малюк заснув, так і не змогла зупинитись, поки не дочитала. Ввесь час тримала думка «А що ж далі? А як же там воно все повернеться?». Малюк грався біля мене, а я одним оком дивилась за ним, а другим читала, читала, читала! Хуууух…Дякую за Вашу працю! Сюжет дуже непростий, і сама ситуація заставляє, а точніше усвідомлення того, скільки такого жахіття в цьому світі, а зокрема в нашій країні, відбувається, кров холонути в жилах. Але написано так цікаво, так смачно і так захоплюючи, що відчуваєш себе на хвилях постійно – вгору-вниз, трохи штиль, і знову вгору-вниз. А це якраз дуже захоплює. І дає час на відновлення після важких сцен. Як на мене, дуже майстерно!!! І метафори!
"Любов за гріш" читалася так легко, наче й не було в мене перед тим тривалого періоду "нечитання". Багато чого мені відгукувалося в цій історії про зниклих дівчат. Але три речі особливо... Про директорку школи: "... з вавилоном начесаного волосся і двома зарядженими автоматами замість очей... Дивилася на гостю, як на озброєного терориста... Здавалося, Уляна просила аудієнції з Папою Римським або з головою секретної служби, а не директоркою звичайної школи". Про бандита: "Він заснував кілька будівельних компаній і дедалі частіше відвідував кабінети посадовців в ролі щедрого інвестора. Пропонував підтримку благодійних проєктів: від озеленення проспектів до ремонтів садків і шкіл". Про журналістів: "Уляна зраділа, що не має жодного стосунку до цього дійства, де кожне слово розписане до копійки"... Кожне слово розписане до копійки!!!..
Уляна втратила батька, можливість навчатися в університеті й здоровий глузд від бажання провести власне розслідування. Вона - журналістка, яка виконує обов'язки секретарки у редакції батькової газети після його смерті. Аж раптом на пошту приходить анонімне повідомлення з інформацією про зниклу дівчинку та адресою її батьків. Уляна, звісно ж, їде. Особливого успіху це не приносить, але, все ж, дає змогу знайти нову зачіпку. І ще одну, і ще, і ще...Але чи вийде врятувати зниклу дівчинку, чи виживуть самі головні герої? Тема торгівлею дітьми у всіх можливих сенсах у нашому суспільстві не дуже популярна, але надзвичайно важлива! Авторка детально описує, що і як відбувається з викраденими дітьми... і це шокує. Мені сподобалась і сама історія, і - найбільше - те, що вона змушує задуматись, а не стирається з пам'яті одразу, варто лише перегорнути останню сторінку!

One Step to Heaven is a collection of short and fast-paced stories where characters face incredibly difficult challenges. They have to use all their strength, intelligence, ingenuity, talents and imagination just to survive.
At the same time, they are not afraid to take risks and to swim upstream. And it happens that they find themselves on the verge of life and death, but do not lose their sense of humor and irrepressible desire to “fix” this world a little.

One Step to Heaven is an example that illustrates that between a book and a movie, a book is sometimes the much more better choice. Read it and see for yourself. Despite the fact that most of the stories by Olha Volynska's are very cinematic, the literary form is more original for them, as it allows readers to imagine the described events in a wide and varied way. A film version, it seems, would only simplify these stories. But in literature they acquire a special ambiguity, a bit of a mysterious shimmer that allows us to look at mostly familiar circumstances and events as something unfamiliar, and vivid.
