This short documentary gives a voice to people behind bars who are not usually heard. This is a story about the fact that torture cannot under any circumstances be a tool of rectification. They only cripple and encourage further crimes.
The main character of the film is Oleh Tsvily, a well-known human rights defender in Ukraine, who, together with his wife Hanna, defends the rights of prisoners. Oleh personally has the experience of being behind bars and has repeatedly suffered brutal torture in prison, so he knows the weak points of this system and wants to reform it.
Thanks to the long-term efforts of Oleh and his team, two odious former heads of the Berdyansk’s Correctional Facility were arrested and accused of torturing prisoners and extorting money after two years of criminal proceedings
